The Chancellor and Health Minister make the biggest blunder: after less than three weeks, abolishing the mandatory tests for returnees from risk areas and replacing them with quarantine is a fatal signal. How and by whom should compliance with the regulations be checked? Test capacities would still be available, 1.2 million per week are possible, 875,000 were last carried out, the travel season is ending, fewer vacationers are coming back.

Bavaria therefore rightly wants to hold on to free tests, anyone who lives elsewhere has to be quarantined. After all, the federal government noticed at the last minute that it cannot be that all of us, the taxpayers, have to pay for the loss of earnings of individuals. Anyone who knowingly drives into a risk area must also bear the financial consequences!
